7 Quick Takes Friday (vol. 7)

To give an update on a recipe I referenced last week, the cauliflower rice was delicious! I paired it with some shredded chicken and topped it with salsa and cheese. My husband liked it (and he is kind of particular about food), so I take that as a good sign.

The food processor worked like magic. Seriously. What are your favorite recipes that require a food processor? I just want to use mine all. day. long.

The company where I work makes a big deal out of Halloween. Nearly everyone dresses up and then we all go out to lunch in costume. It’s a fun tradition, and people really go all out with their costumes.

I made a last minute decision to participate on Halloween morning. I Googled “easy costume” and came up with this via Real Simple magazine…

Can you guess what I am? An Iron Chef! Nice because I had all of the items necessary on hand. Would’ve been better with a chef hat and a real chef coat, but the apron conveyed the message well enough.

I had a blast with my girlfriends at the bachelorette party last weekend. I don’t see them very often, so it was wonderful to catch up and have some fun together. Here are a few shots from the night…

Also, I can’t help but mention how sweet my husband was to drive me into the city and then pick me up the next day, which translated to over three hours in the car for him. When he picked me up, he had a pumpkin latte waiting in my cup holder.

Yep, this guy gets me. *happy sigh*

I’ve been sporting this nail polish color lately. Very fall, kinda neutral-ish. I’m a big fan. I put some gold glitter over it last week to snazz it up.

Today is All Souls Day in the Catholic Church. A time to remember those who have gone before us, and to pray for their salvation. There are so many for which I’m praying today. Who are you praying for? Leave his or her name in a comment and I’ll be sure to add to my prayer list.

Don’t forget this weekend is Daylight Savings Time! I’m thankful we are setting our clocks back an hour and gaining an extra hour during the weekend.

Lastly, and most importantly, my heart goes out to everyone on the East Coast experiencing hardships due to Hurricane Sandy. Some of the pictures of the subway totally full of water and entire neighborhoods destroyed take my breath away. You’re all in my prayers!!!

Thanks, Megan. I’m one blessed woman; he treats me like a queen! 🙂

  2. I can’t bring myself to like my food processor. It makes some tasks easier but it is such a pain to clean and that kills it for me.

My food processor is pretty easy to clean, but I feel that way about my juicer. It is awesome having fresh juice, but a big 25 minute production to clean all the parts.

I probably like the food processor so much because I’m really bad at chopping! I can never get things small enough when I do it by hand.
