Rather than simply patting themselves on the back for beating the odds, they put together an inventive marketing campaign that allows users to see the role we’ve all played in Facebook’s success.
Users can visit the site below to see and share a personalized video of their most popular Facebook moments since the company’s inception in 2004.
The campaign is inclusive, fun, and rapidly spreading the word about their anniversary because many users are participating. It feels like a natural extension of a platform that was designed to allow people to share their lives with others, rather than a contrived campaign. I have to call out great marketing when I see it, so kudos to the Facebook marketing crew!
My only complaint is that the video has really low resolution, but overall it was a smart campaign.
