Friday favorites vol. 11

Happy Friday! I think I saw a snow flake earlier. This can’t be happening already, can it? #hellowinter

My first favorite are these slippers from Costco. I learned about them via the Costco Does It Again Instagram account and thought they’d be ideal for slipping on quickly to take Arwen out as the temperatures drop.

Don’t @ me for wearing Christmas socks at the beginning of November. I’m not starting early; I wear these year round!

They are so warm and snuggly, I ended up going back for a 2nd pair so I have one to wear outside and one to wear as a slipper in the house. I’ve even been wearing them when I walk Arwen around the neighborhood because the sole is thick enough to function as a regular shoe. No shame here walking around the block in my pajamas, winter coat, and slippers. Sorry neighbors! 😉

I recommend sizing down one size because they stretch a little bit. I picked up a size 8 (I’m normally a 9) and they fit perfectly.

My husband and I love kettle corn. Pop Corners chips fulfill that craving with very few calories considering kettle corn is typically high in sugar. That makes them my next favorite!

The trash can in my office is evidence these have been my go to snack lately.

They sell a variety pack at Costco, so you can sample multiple flavors. (I promise this post is not a commercial for Costco.)

Instead of providing standard chairs and calling it a day, the company I work for allows each employee to select their own chair under a certain price limit. We’ve had this program for a couple years, but I could not find a chair I wanted to commit to. If I sit for too long, my back starts hurting and sometimes my legs fall asleep! I tried a standing desk a while back, but found I wasn’t using it much.

After lots of research, I selected my next favorite, this ergonomic kneeling chair. This is the first full week I’ve been using it. It looks a little weird, but it is so comfortable and forces me to sit up straight rather than slouch.

Bonus: If you’re short on space, the chair is small enough to be stored under most standard height desks.

It was very easy to assemble, though there are a few steps where it’s helpful to have two sets of hands holding it up while you put the screws in.

My youngest sister was in a play last week, and we attended the Friday night performance. Her performance is my next favorite. She had a dancing role and did fabulous as usual.

Excuse the blurry pic; I was further back in the theater. My sis is in the front row on the right. Her cat eye was on point!

Though we just passed the one year mark of living in our new home, I still find myself in disbelief we get to experience these bits of daily life with my side of our family. I wonder when I’ll cross the threshold of being used to living here and that kind of thing will seem normal. 🤷🏻‍♀️

iPhone users — Do you all ever use the voice recording feature in text messages? My sweet nephew sent me the cutest little message, my last favorite, before he went to bed the other night. He has the sweetest voice and I was a giant puddle after listening to it. 😍If you have a little one and long distance family, record and send them an audio message. If they’re anything like me, it will make their night!!
