My blog was hacked (for the 8th time, I’m not even exaggerating) about 2 months ago.
Since then, I’ve gone around and around with my hosting provider trying to get everything fixed. They were extremely unhelpful, difficult to reach, and even rude throughout most of that process. So I said adios to the crappy provider and also switched my blog’s url to adriwrites.com.
The old address, adrims.com, was kind of confusing to people anyway. Google, for one, was convinced I needed to purchase ads to optimize my site for car enthusiasts to purchase custom rims. No Google. Just no.
Unfortunately, I also ended up losing a bunch of images in the process. Only my very recent posts will have images until I can recover them.
After making the switch, I started thinking about how my blog doesn’t really have a theme. I write about whatever comes to mind. The only common thread is that I’m the author and I usually care about the topic. As a marketer, I know for a blog to be successful, you need to have a central focus to attract a like minded audience and convert them to loyal readers. I debated with myself for a while about whether I should be writing about faith, marketing, general life updates, etc. I couldn’t settle on a single topic.
And then I realized…who cares? I’m not interested in a “successful blog,” if success is defined by lots o’ readers. I just need an outlet to write about what matters to me.
So there you have it. New address, same lack of direction. 😉 Hope to be posting more regularly soon!
