“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
– Psalm 46:10
A sweet friend gave me a notebook with part of this Bible passage on it earlier this year. The paper is about half gone and the edges are worn, but the passage is still there and it challenges me every time I read it.
Being still is not easy.
It can be scary to stop moving, sit in silence, and be mindful of what’s on your heart. To stop working and running and planning and just be. To calm your racing mind and set aside your fears and hopes and expectations.
To place all of these things at the foot of the Cross and know “the Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
– Exodus 14:14
