WEDDING Edition!!
I’m going to show you some of the fun behind-the-scenes pre-wedding activity from my sister’s wedding last weekend, which was one of the best weddings I’ve ever been to, no joke. (I’m so glad you didn’t elope, Cassie!)

We got to my sis and BIL’s house around noon on Thursday, and immediately jumped in to cutting flowers and making bouquets. It was the first time I’d ever done any flower arranging, and it was pretty fun. Here is the flower extravaganza in action…
…and then the finished product. There were lots of other arrangements we made to put around the venue, but these were our bouquets.
Thursday afternoon, one of my other sisters and I accompanied Cassie while she got a pedicure and manicure. She, like me, can hardly help but laugh when the nail tech works on her feet.
While she had her pedicure, my sister Gabrielle held on to Cassie’s engagement ring and expressed that she’d like to keep it.
Cassie wasn’t having it.
Later that night, the bride decided that her dress for the rehearsal dinner was a little too trendy. It was one of those high-low dresses, or as I warmly refer to them, mullet dresses. So she did what any other super talented and confident seamstress would do, she cut her dress up and fixed it the way she wanted at midnight THE NIGHT BEFORE she had to wear it.
The final result was gorgeous. Here she is posing in the dress she altered next to her wedding dress the night of the rehearsal dinner.
The afternoon of the rehearsal, we spent some time decorating the venue, which was phenomenal. Set in an old English style house.
Tried to capture the bridal suite where we got dressed using iPhone’s panoramic setting. Came out a little choppy, but you get the general idea.
Here is the dining room, before and after decorating the tables. She had white lace, lots of candles and a variety of white flowers at each table. Very elegant.
This is one of my favorite pictures from the rehearsal dinner. Among several other things, Phillip (the groom and now my BIL) gave his groomsmen some super nerdy calculator watches, which they all loved and ended up wearing on the day of the wedding, too.
Morning of the big day, all of the bridesmaids and my Mom went with the bride to have our hair done.

Just two more stops before we headed over to the venue to kick off the festivities. The jeweler, to have her bling polished for all of the pictures.
And then to get some lunch at a local cafe. Bride said she felt like a freak show going everywhere in her veil, but she really was beautiful.
I can hardly wait to see pictures from the wedding from the photographers!! They were really awesome.

I so badly wanted to have everyone get together in the days before our wedding and “do it ourself”
Me too, though in some ways I’m glad we didn’t. You have so much to do in the days leading up to your wedding anyway! However, unless the bride wants something really particular or is just anxious/nervous about it, I totally recommend doing your own flowers. It was a fun experience for the bridesmaids, and more time consuming than difficult.
