You might be thinking, ‘You two have been approved to adopt for 15 months. Why weren’t you already on the website?!?!’
This is something I thought many times and called our agency to ask. Because they are a non-profit, they have limited tech support and their website has a set number of spaces to feature waiting families. As a result they have a policy to rotate through families periodically. (I offered to help update the website to remedy this, but they did not take me up on it.) Hopefully our profile will be live now until we are selected! It was still possible we could’ve been chosen in the time we weren’t listed on the website, as they have our physical profile book to show to expectant parents.
Physical Profile Book
Since we published our physical profile book and gave it to our agency in June of 2019, we’ve had professional photos taken 3 times. It’s hilarious because prior to that, the last time we had a professional photo taken was our wedding!
I’m thinking about updating the physical profile book our agency has to include these newer photos. If I do, I’ll be sure to grab a PDF of some of the pages to share here as well.
New Rocking Chairs
Our nursery has a new addition — a rocking recliner from my sweet grandparents. My Grandma decided to get new furniture for her living room and gave us her old chairs. We put one in Mark’s office and one in the nursery and they are so comfy. I can’t wait to rock our child to sleep in these chairs and think of my grandparents. We will most likely move the wooden rocking chair from Mark’s parents into our bedroom when a baby comes.
