Last week while I was watching The Bachelorette my husband came into the living room and watched a few minutes of it with me. Maybe it was against his will, but he didn’t put up too much of a fight.
The Bachelorette, Desiree, and one of the contestants (can’t remember which one) just sat down to a romantic dinner on a balcony overlooking a city landscape. They poured the wine and started discussing how they felt about each other, what kind of future spouse they were looking for, etc. And of course, it wouldn’t be The Bachelorette without lots of inappropriate (read: 4+ guys on the same night) kissing.
I was paying special attention to their facial expressions and eyes, trying to decipher whether or not either of them were being genuine or if it was just acting. Whereas my husband…the only words he says the entire time are, “Why are they talking so much? That steak is going to get cold.”
I laughed so hard.
Clearly, our views about what a good dinner date entails are different.
What does a great date look like to you?
