Friday favorites vol. 20

Happy Friday! Friday hits differently now that I’m not “going to work” all week. In my sleep deprived state, most days, I have to ask Alexa what day of the week it is. I’m loving every moment of it!

-1-

My first favorite this week is all the love and support we’ve received from our family and friends (and even strangers!) since we brought Sam home from the hospital. People have stopped by to help us with household chores, brought us so many delicious meals, donated baby clothes and items their kids aren’t using anymore, snuggled Sam so we could catch up on sleep, and sent us countless gifts for our new little guy. When I say countless, I mean that in the truest sense of the word. So many presents!!

I’m so grateful for every one of you. If all new parents received this much support, I can’t imagine how it would change the world!

Temporary tattoos of scripture from Armed With Truth are my second favorite this week. I recently gave them as a gift and ordered some for myself. I put them on my arm to reference to help myself memorize specific verses of scripture. Praise God, it has been working! Highly recommend, though hopefully you are more skilled at applying them than I am. Note the wobbly words.

My next favorite is a book I recently read by Sally Clarkson. In preparation for motherhood, in the months preceding Sam’s birth, I read every parenting book I could find. One of my favorites was The Mission of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson.

I was especially inspired by The 24 Family Ways her and her husband implemented in raising their children and hope to do something similar in our household. Have any of you read this book or implemented the 24 Family Ways in your home? If so, how did it go?

We received these adorable mugs from my parents. Part of me is still in disbelief we are parents. I’m content in a way I can’t describe. I’m so grateful God brought us together with Sam’s birth mom and that when she decided on adoption, she chose us.

My next fav is my morning decaf coffee with almond milk pumpkin spice cream. Tis the season! I normally avoid coffee because even decaf is a lot for my body to process, but it’s been necessary given the amount of sleep we are (not) getting. This is the cream I can’t get enough of! I feel like I may have previously shared about this, but either way, it’s worth repeating. 😉

They also make an “unsweet” version which I find equally delicious.

That’s all I’ve got! What have your favorites been this week?
